Corporate Social Responsibility
Overview
Positive community engagement and the alleviation of negative environmental impacts are key priorities in all of EDM's operations. The Company strives to be an industry leader, taking a "best practices" approach to environmental management and bringing benefits to its host communities throughout all stages of project activity. Accordingly, EDM is acting, both to minimize any detrimental impacts of its operations and to provide tangible and sustainable benefits for the people and communities enterprising with EDM.
EDM is committed to the implementation of sustainable development and we provide the resources necessary to:
- Apply best practices in order to meet applicable environmental legislation, and other requirements to which the company subscribes
- consider social issues in determination of our business decisions, including the long-term sustainability of communities
- facilitate dialogue with communities in which we operate in order to anticipate and address relevant issues of sustainability
- ensure all our activities are conducted in a responsible and ethical manner
communicate our progress on achieving sustainability openly and on a timely basis with the community, employees, the public, governments, and other interested stakeholders
In addition, EDM is moving forward with the global movement of companies committed to the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): the integration of business operations and values, whereby the interests of all stakeholders including investors, customers, employees, communities and the environment are reflected in the company's policies and actions.
